COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Jesus' birthday is over.  Does it mean that the spirit of gift giving and sharing is over too?

For (9) nine years of spending Christmas in where i consider as my second hometown, I never missed a year without sharing a bit of my time and money for my children in school and for my beloved........ Late October or Earlier November bonus will be released....
Me, as usual earlier than that date..... always ready with my list of who will be the recipient of my gifts.

This year 2010, I already made my shopping early as November to avoid the rush, the long lines in the cashiers and even the hassle of the traffic... I really love to shop at Gaisano Mall of Davao.  It's in the heart of the city. Everything is in there.  Things were arranged smoothly.  They offer discounts on selected items.  All my gifts were bought in there.  If I am in Davao I never missed to buy Choco Crumble at Zagu matched with popcorn... LOL it's my stress reliever.

Gifts that were bought at my favorite store were personally wrapped by me.  I make it sure  that when I bought something for someone she/he will be happy with it. The main reason why I like to wrapped gifts is because I want them to be happy when they receive it.

Yesterday, some of the gifts were already given to the recipient.  I even texted our neighbor to claim their children's gift and was touched by his reply.......

"Thank You Maam for being so nice and kind.  May God Bless you more."

I nearly cried.  I realized.... I kept on complaining with co-workers and even with my self, WHY IS IT THAT I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO ALWAYS GIVE GIFTS?  shouting to my self "I CAN ALSO RECEIVE GIFTS"....
arguing with them with the saying.... "it's better to give than to received."
Enlightened with the phrase... Be happy with what you have.  Count all your blessings and don't forget to share it to others for God will bless you more.

Until next Gift Giving....

HAPPY BDAY JESUS

"We wish you a merry Christmas, We wish you a merry Christmas, We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year" namamasko po! namamasko po!

We often hear it every yuletide season.  The young and even the young at heart finds time to visit houses, singing and dancing with different instruments as accompaniment.  We are entertained with their songs that is why we are always ready with our coins (for kids) and bills (for big ones) LOL  : - )

A while ago, a bunch of kids made their caroling.... i was working with my thesis then.  I stopped for a while and found out that one of the carolers is my inaanak (GODCHILDREN ). I smiled and handed her my gift for her...... but she was with a company, a friend maybe.... a girl friend.  I hurriedly went under the Christmas Tree..... thank God I found an extra gift.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you mr. and mrs.... thank you!  as they went away singing.
I smiled and got back to work.

At a moment, another bunch of kids arrived singing to their hearts content.  I went out with a big laugh..... je je je  the same carolers bringing other kids..... but i don't have gifts to give anymore instead I handed them 6pesos for them to share.... with a simple coin it made them smile....

Making others happy is the true meaning of Christmas. Be happy all for the Savior is born!

From 2 to 1

Last October 5, 2010 somebody said this: "this coming December I will give financial assistance to the DepEd family......

Earlier today I went to Samal District City Hall for my co-worker texted me that indeed the financial assistance is now available.  With full of enthusiasm, I hurriedly jump off to bed and fix myself for I need to travel 30 minutes for me to be at the venue where I think Santa Clause (the famous gift giver) will be there.  On my way, I was thinking of possible things to buy for me and the rest of the family.  Hmmmmm...... I was excited!

I arrived early in the venue.  They were still having their lunch break.  I patiently waited for me to be accommodated.  Alas! With full of smile, I approached the counter and gave my name and waited......

The clerk handed me (2) 500 peso bill.... with half-smiled I asked, "is this all maam?" Yes, she answered.

When I turned my back and on my way home, I was thinking, "What happened to the 2 thousand pesos that he promised?"  I just lifted my head above the sky and uttered  "Thank You Dear God." a thousand is better than none.

But what about the others,  who relied their Christmas Celebration with that supposed to be 2thousand pesos turned only 1thousand pesos?  Hmmmmm...... so sad.... indeed promises are made to be broken....
